HMQ & Duke of Rothesay plant tree at Balmoral

The Queen’s Green Canopy

The Queen’s Green Canopy has created a living legacy, with over a million trees planted in Her Majesty’s name across the nation during the first planting season from October 2021 to March 2022. The extension of the QGC initiative from October 2022 to March 2023 built on this legacy and will serve as a lasting tribute to Her Majesty’s extraordinary service to her country and her people.

The interactive map created by The Queen’s Green Canopy to showcase the planting projects across the United Kingdom gave people an opportunity to be part of this special legacy. Have a look for trees near you.

The Queen’s Green Canopy was an inclusive national initiative, meaning that everyone from across the United Kingdom was able to get involved. There is lots of information on the Queen’s Green Canopy website if you want to learn more about this wonderful initiative.

The Aberdeenshire Lieutenancy is proud to have supported the planting of many trees in contribution to this lasting tribute to Her Late Majesty the Queen and you can see photos of some of these below.
